Made in India / Indigenous/or Swadeshi originally derived from a Sanskrit word “Svadesin” were ‘sva’ means own and ‘desa’ means country is the trend of the nation today. But what led to such a reform? Is it because China ditched the entire world and now the world is teaching a lesson to the largest exporter or is it the Chinese government’s mentality at the national borders which has aroused a sentiment of patriotism in the Indian hearts. There is yet another factor which I believe may be a reason to go swadeshi. During this tough time that the world is experiencing, Indians have somewhere developed a sentiment for the Indian products backed by the slogan of our honourable Prime Minister to go Swadeshi. But what is this swadeshi? Is it that an Indian company importing a product would be called Swadeshi or an Indian product getting manufactured with imported raw materials is Swadeshi? Swadeshi can be simply understood as a product getting manufactured in India with 100% Indian resources. A Made in India product can be defined as a product manufactured by using machines manufactured in India, raw materials procured from sources of nature available in India and then finally manufactured by Indian manpower. But why do we need to use Swadeshi products? Is it because our honourable Prime Minister has said to do that. I don’t think that, that should be the only reason because today’s mass doesn’t follow someone blindly and put in their intellect to decide on what and from where to buy.  There are so many products out there in the market, which we don’t even realize that they are not Indian, but foreign. We are so much dependent on them, that we think that these are Indian goods. People normally complain that our economy is going down, prices are rising, and everything is becoming costly, dollar price is increasing and we blame government for all these things. But is government actually responsible? Are we not the one who should be blamed? One of the basic things one can understand about Economics is that, if you buy something from some seller, he will get his benefit. Now obviously if the seller is from America, Korea, Japan, Europe, China, then his country will get the benefit and his currency will become strong. So is it not our duty to promote our country made products. Is it not the responsibility of citizens to use what has been produced in his own country? Is it not our responsibility to be aware of the goods produced in our own country? Now, if we use an item made by a foreign company, we basically contribute money to a foreign company, hence to a foreign nation. So, if we use items made in India by Indian companies, we increase the total output of Indian companies and hence the GDP of India. This does contribute positively to the economy. Let’s support our own country made goods. We all can collectively make a huge difference to the Indian economy. As an Indian citizen using of Indian products are beneficial for our country in many ways. Some of them are – when we use Indian products, import will be decreased so the Indian currency will not go outside or any other country. It will increase GDP of the country. It is very beneficial for the small and medium enterprises. When we use these products, demand will increase and more industries will be set up and so employment will increase. Advantages and Disadvantages of Make in India are that it will develop job opportunity, ameliorate the vicinity, expand GDP and fortify the Rupee, increase in brand value, up-gradation of technology, ease of business, availability of young minds, development of rural areas and flow of capital. There are many goods which are available in market and have better or similar Indian substitutes. Let’s discuss about those products. we may not be aware of all, but in the beginning let us focus our attention towards the industry of acoustics and false ceiling which has been dominated by foreign brands while the Indian substitutes are capable enough to win the race. Foreign brands have so well acquired the Indian market share in Acoustics and False ceiling industry that people feel hard to believe on Indian brands while unless and until the Indian brands get enough opportunity to showcase their products, the belief would never overcome the image of the foreign brands and ultimately it will lead to the drain of Indian money to foreign countries. Credence Acoustics and False ceiling is  a similar company in this industry and a strong substitute to challenge the foreign products. This company is a completely indigenous company manufacturing its entire range of products in India with Indian machinery, Indian raw material and Indian manpower. It’s high time now that we start joining hands with these Indian companies manufacturing Made in India Swadeshi products for the nation and simultaneously nurturing Indian economy.
